College Historical Society (The Hist), Trinity College Dublin

The College Historical Society, established 1770 in Trinity College, Dublin, is the oldest student society in the world and exists to facilitate discourse in every way possible. It holds weekly debates on current and historical affairs, sends students to participate in debating competitions and has held addresses from some of the most prestigious speakers in the country and internationally, including Sir Winston Churchill, Jesse Jackson, Ralph Fiennes, Angus Deaton, and Patti Smith.
