Description
Information
We are an engineering business with nearly four decades of inert gas and water treatment experience. We design and build innovative systems to treat the ballast water of the world's large merchant ships, making sure the water is cleaned and re-oxygenated before being pumped back into the sea. Our systems have been devised to treat ballast water using inert gas and ultrasonic waves, without adding corrosive chemicals, filters or using UV light. Our aim is to protect fragile marine environments using innovative, clean & green technology.Key features of the GLD™ Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) are that treatment takes place in-tank and in-voyage and without the need for any form of in-line filtration. Our approach ensures no disruption to terminal operations during ballasting and no risk of re-growth of marine organisms on long ballast voyages, as treatment takes place towards the end of such voyages. With our GLD™ BWTS, large vessels are now guaranteed to arrive at terminals ready to load or off-load ballast without the risk of any delays caused by BWTS operational difficulties and/or breakdowns. The system is fully type-approved by IMO, with testing and certification by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency and Lloyd’s Register. It also has USCG AMS acceptance and is currently undergoing the full USCG type approval process and new IMO G8 certification. An integral part of our award-winning GLD™ BWTS is our Sea Guardian™, a clean, innovative and compact Inert Gas Generator (IGG), with technology suitable for use on LNG carriers and tankers for inerting purposes. It can therefore have a dual role on such vessels: inerting and BWT, as part of our GLD™ BWTS, as necessary. Sea Guardian™ IGGs incorporate a range of patented unique features that ensure stable, reliable and particularly low maintenance operation.
