Colchester Zoo is home to over 240 species set in 60 acres of parkland and lakes. We are proudly listed as the 11th best zoo around the world and in the top 2 zoos in the UK as part of the TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Attractions.As well as being a popular attraction for visitors across the country, Colchester Zoo also plays a vital part in conservation. Action for the Wild is Colchester Zoo's charity dedicated to assisting conservation projects worldwide including its own project: the UmPhafa Private Nature Reserve in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Colchester Zoo is privately owned and funding the zoo's further development as well as assisting projects in the wild is only possible with the support of the community through your visits and purchases.
