About CIBI Information, Inc.

CIBI Information Inc. (CIBI), the Philippines' first and only credit reporting agency, was first organized in 1982 as Credit Information Exchange System, a business information division attached to the Department of Loans and Credit of the Central Bank of the Philippines, now the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). It was jointly created by the BSP, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX).

CIBI was eventually transformed into a private entity and officially incorporated in 1997 as CIBI Information Inc., a non-stock, non-profit corporation engaged in information gathering, data management, and analytics, pertinent to credit information on individuals, business entities, and other institutions in various areas of interest. Since its inception in 1982, CIBI has gained a solid reputation in over three decades of operation as a reliable source of accurate credit information, accordingly, validated by its esteemed clients and recognized by the Philippine government.

As part of its continuous effort in providing valuable services to its clients, CIBI relentlessly expands its awareness of, and sensitivity, to issues concerning unbanked individuals and under-served businesses. It also opens the door of opportunity to bring them into the mainstream of financial services by providing channels to credit facilities with the end view of sustaining the country's economic growth.
