Chr. Hansen A/S was founded in 1874 by the Danish pharmacist Christian Ditlev Ammentorp Hansen. Since then, Chr. Hansen has continued to revolutionize and set the standards for manufacture of microbial products. We believe that microbial challenges require microbial solutions. With that in mind, we are the owner of one of the world’s largest commercial collections of bacteria, numbering more than 25,000 strains.
