Cham Islamic Bank is licensed as public shareholding Company in accordance with the Ministerial Decree No.(66/M.W) issued on 7 September 2006 under registration number (14809); the resolution No.(104/L.A) issued by the Committee of the Central Bank of Syria on 10 February 2007.

The Bank complies with the legislative decree No. (35) For the year 2005, which is related to organizing the work of the Islamic Banks; the legislative decree No. (28) for the year 2001 and its executive instructions; the regulation No.(23) for the year 2002; the corporate law No.(29) for the year 2011; and the regulations stated by the Monetary and Credit council according to Shari’a rules and principles.

The Bank is registered with the Banking Supervision Commission as a private bank under No. (15)

The Bank is registered with a total authorized capital of SP 5,000,000,000 representing 50,000,000 shares; with a par value of SP 100 per share. The Bank started its operations on 27 August 2007.

The Bank's headquarter is located at Al Nijmah Square, Damascus – Syrian Arab Republic.

The Bank carries out banking, financing and investing activities in accordance with the Bank’s by laws and the teachings of Islam (Shari’a) through its headquarters and eight branches.
