Central Australia Health Service

The Central Australia Region covers a vast geographical area of approximately 873,000 square kilometres encompassing the Simpson and Tanami Deserts and Barkly Tablelands with a total resident population of approximately 48,000, of which about 45% identify as Aboriginal. A significant percentage of people reside in Central Australia outside the main towns of Alice Springs and Tennant Creek, across a number of remote Aboriginal communities and outstations. Central Australia Health Service comprises of Tennant Creek Hospital, Alice Springs Hospital, Central Australia Mental Health Services, Primary Health Care Central Australia, Community Services, Alcohol and other drug services Central Australia, Central Australia Mental Health Service.
