Winner of the Alberta Football League's Organization of the Year in 2015 Winner of Lacombe Chamber of Commerce Not for Profit Organization of the Year in 2015 The Central Alberta Buccaneers are a member franchise in the Alberta Football League. The AFL is a non-profit society dedicated to regulate and promote Senior Men's amateur football in Alberta. Focus is placed on teamwork, brotherhood, self-improvement, community, and, most importantly, love of football. The Bucs pride themselves as a team that plays high quality and full-contact football. Regardless of the score, the Buccaneers are playing full tilt, with 100% speed and effort. In order to play for the Buccaneers, players must past their high school eligibility. There is no age cap nor a requirement for past football experience. While experience with high school, junior, and CIS football is an asset, players can join the Bucs with zero experience. The coaching staff and veteran players provide an ideal situation for rookie footballers - many current and past Bucs have flourished despite no prior football experience. The Buccaneers are committed to giving back in the community that supports its team, both on and off the field. We work diligently to build strong alliances and partnerships that create awareness for a variety of non-profit organizations, schools and associations, including: Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Canadian Blood Services, Gord Bamford Charity Classic, and local food banks. We also work in partnership with local businesses throughout Central Alberta that provide unique marketing opportunities and instill a sense of community pride. We strongly believe that 2015 will be an exciting season and a great opportunity to promote men’s football in Central Alberta.
