Catholic Charities of Oregon

Inspired by the transformative power of God's love, Catholic Charities, the social service arm of the Catholic Church in western Oregon, partners with the most vulnerable, regardless of faith, to achieve lasting solutions to poverty and injustice. We are funded entirely through grants, donations and client fees. We do not only serve Catholics or offer them preferential access to services. We operate primarily in the Portland metro area, but our work extends through the western part of Oregon in particular, and to a lesser extent to the rest of the state. We operate the following social service programs: Between Us - relationship coaching and classes Caritas Housing Initiatives - affordable housing for low-income people El Programa Hispano - family and anti-poverty services, youth services and school-based services for the Latino community Housing Transitions - counseling, housing placement and support for homeless women Immigration Legal Services - legal representation for low-income immigrants and refugees Pregnancy Support and Adoption Services - support and counseling for women facing crisis pregnancies, open adoption, special needs adoption, home studies Project Rachel - post-abortion reconciliation and healing Project UNICA - domestic violence case management and support groups for Latin@s and a 24-hour Spanish/English crisis line Refugee Resettlement - assistance for refugees relocated due to persecution
