An important part of Kawaga's rich, 100+ year heritage is our emphasis on our ideals of Sportsmanship, Fellowship, Spirit, and Enthusiasm. It's all summed up in Kawaga's Ideal, which is something most Kawaga campers know and hold close to their heart.
Our goal is for each boy to have the best summer of his life, while continuing to learn life's most valuable skills. It takes only a single summer to appreciate the "Kawaga Magic," but its impact lasts a lifetime.
Kawaga employs 60-75 young adults each summer in positions from camp counselor, area directors (skiing, swimming, and specific sports), programming and administration. Our staff learn how to work in a group setting, multi-task, care for youth ages 7-16, and work in a fast-paced and fun environment. Our return rate for staff is over 90%.
