About Cambridge Symphony Orchestra

Cambridge Symphony Orchestra is a community music organization that provides a welcoming environment for players and audiences through outstanding concerts and events, music education, and social action.

Cambridge Symphony Orchestra was formed in 1975 by a group of adult amateur musicians dedicated to the idea of performing good music at free concerts in and around Cambridge. In 2004-2005, a ticket price was instituted to defray some of the operating costs. In addition to its public concerts, the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra is strongly committed to performing outreach orchestral and chamber music for audiences with limited access to live music.
