The mission of Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is to provide the resources and life-saving programs to build No-Kill communities. Brother Wolf was founded in 2007 as a small group of concerned citizens, rescuing dogs and cats from the county shelter and adopting them into forever homes. At that time, the county shelter was euthanizing more than 70% of the animals that came through its doors. Through hard work and perseverance, we soon grew a robust, very productive grassroots network of foster homes, volunteers and supporters. By 2009, we opened the first No-Kill Adoption Center in Asheville. Since then, the number of animals we save has grown exponentially – from just under 100 animals per year in 2007 to now, over 10,000 saved per year through our adoption program, pet retention services, extensive volunteer and foster networks, a spay/neuter program for unowned outdoor cats, transport program, disaster relief work, and our mobile spay/neuter clinic.
