About Briarwood Christian School
We teach PreK-12 students to think, live, and love based on what the Bible teaches. This is a biblical worldview. Our mission is to help our students develop a biblical worldview from the arts to zoology and everything in between. For our students and staff, the Bible is a lamp to their feet and a light to their life’s path (Psalm 119:105) as they learn “to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ” (II Cor. 10:5) so that in everything, “Christ might be preeminent.” (Col. 1:18)
We offer both a deep and broad educational program. Depth is reflected in the quality of teaching in which wisdom, understanding and application are emphasized. Advanced, honors, AP, and dual-enrollment courses also deliver a deep and vibrant educational experience. Breadth is provided through a wide-variety of courses, including Mandarin Chinese, French, Spanish, Latin, Media Literacy Computer, Robotics, and Intro to Engineering, to name a few. These academic offerings are combined with outstanding and competitive fine arts and athletic programs to offer our students a varied and rich experience that cultivates their interests and gifts as they prepare for college and career.
This quote from the Dean of Harvard Business School captures the spirit of Briarwood: “We must have the conviction to hold fast to the many traditions that have defined us for so many years [and] at the same time, we must have the courage to innovate. Because today’s traditions were, in fact, innovations in their time … We owe it, to the generations who will follow us, to continue that spirit of exploration and innovation, because it is in this way that we bring to life the School’s mission of educating leaders who make a difference in the world.” Briarwood reflects this spirit from our traditional phonics to our innovative Learning Unleashed iPad program.
