About Bonnington Group

The Bonnington Group derives its name from the Little Bonnington in Great Russell Street and its successor, the Bonnington Hotel on Southampton Row, both in the Bloomsbury area of London, England. Opened in 1911, the Bonnington in Bloomsbury was the first hotel in London to be built around a steel frame structure and the property, though no longer operated by the Bonnington Group, remains a fine example of Edwardian architecture.

In 1999, the McGettigan family acquired the Bonnington Hotel and a majority shareholding in the Bonnington Group. One of Ireland's oldest and most respected hotelier families, the McGettigans built on their long tradition of successful hospitality and real estate operations in Ireland and set about considerably expanding the Bonnington Group's activities both in the United Kingdom as well as abroad.

Today, the Bonnington Group covers a wide spectrum of activities ranging from hospitality, to property investment and development.

Our goal is to continue to develop a successful and progressive group of international companies centred around property investment, development, and the hospitality industry, that upholds the traditions of quality of service and integrity established by our founders in 1907.
