Blue Ribbon Restaurants-Novi, LLC, a franchisee of Famous Dave’s of America, Inc, has been operating in the Metro Detroit area for 14 years. Today, they own and operate 4 locations: Westland, Roseville, Taylor and Novi. Blue Ribbon Restaurants-Novi is sister company to Buckeye Barbeque, owning and operating 1 restaurant in the Greater Cleveland area, and Windy City Restaurant Holdings in the Chicagoland area, owning and operating 5 restaurants: Addison, North Riverside, Orland Park, Oswego and Bolingbrook. In November of 2017, Blue Ribbon Restaurants acquired the Washington, D.C. metro area market and began CommonWealth Blue Ribbon Restaurants owning and operating 8 restaurants: Alexandria, VA, Woodbridge, VA, Chantilly, VA, Oakton, VA, Laurel, MD, Columbia, MD, Waldorf, MD and Frederick, MD. Famous Dave’s of America, Inc. was founded by “Famous” Dave Anderson, whose passion for BBQ led him on a 25-year cross-country trek to find the best regional BBQ recipes in the country before opening the first Famous Dave’s in Hayward, WI. As of January of 2018, the company owns 16 locations and franchises an additional 135 units in 32 states, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Canada and the United Arab Emirates. The company is known for its on-premise real pit smokers where the BBQ is slow-smoked for up to 10 hours over smoldering hickory wood. Famous Dave’s is proud to serve scratch-recipe cooking, and has won over 700 awards, including the People’s Choice Award at the 2011 Great American Rib Cook-Off in Cleveland and the People’s Choice Award at the 2011 National Capital Barbecue Battle in Washington, D.C., for the sixth year in a row.
