Bio-Quant Inc., is an AAALAC accredited, San Diego, California based, CRO which is focused on providing biomedical services in the following areas: Pharmacology, Pharmacokinetics and toxicology to support pre-IND enabling studies and discovery programmes. Bio-Quant is a prominent and well respected organisation that has earned an excellent reputation for high-quality work and expertise. In Pharmacology, we specialize in immunology/inflammation, oncology and metabolic diseases, diabetes type l & ll, as well as obesity and wound healing - both superficial and deep seated/surgical wounds. Such studies are performed both in vitro and in vivo. All studies are supported by in-house clinical pathology (hematology, coagulation and clinical chemistry), FACS analysis, X-ray, MRI, and species specific biomarker evaluation. Immune disease models such as asthma, CIA, EAE, lupus and atopic dermatitis are routinely performed here. In oncology, we have over 400 human cell lines on hand for in vitro screening and mechanism of action studies and over 100 cell lines have been validated for in vivo xenograft studies in nude, SCID and NOD/SCID mice. In PK, we do standard in vivo studies using all routes of administration with an option of doing the plasma analyses here by LCMS/MS or sending the samples back to the client; PK is done routinely in rodents, dogs, pigs and NHPs. Additionally, in vitro protein binding studies are performed. In Toxicology, acute and repeated dose (for 7 and/or 14 days) is also carried out mainly in rodents with dose range finding in dogs and pigs. Clinical pathology, histopathology and immunocytochemistry support are routinely provided when needed for all our pharmacology/toxicology studies. A panel of 16 human primary cardiac cell lines is used for in vitro screening for cardiotoxicity as well as non-invasive in vivo QT prolongation studies in large animals, mainly dogs and pig at this time.
