Behavioral Healthcare Inc. (BHI)

BHI is a Colorado managed care organization that has its roots managing the Medicaid contract for behavioral health services in the east Denver metro area. In addition to contracting an extensive mental health network of providers for our members and managing the utilization of these services, BHI augments its services with a focus on member education, outreach, peer support services, drop-in centers, and the integration of physical and behavioral health care.Through its efforts, BHI has achieved NCQA accreditation, and has developed a favorable statewide reputation in mental health and recovery. As a result, BHI has partnered with the Office of Behavioral Health for the State of Colorado on several important initiatives with the Mental Health Institutes at Pueblo and Fort Logan. BHI supplements multidisciplinary treatment teams at the mental health institutes by providing "lived"​ experience and client-oriented insight through Peer Support Specialists, who assist patients in their stabilization and recovery by providing reassurance, guidance, information, and encouragement through all stages of the recovery process. BHI has been appointed to oversee and manage a transition services program for the re-entry of difficult to place individuals residing at the mental health institutes to return to their home communities. Our Transition Specialists facilitate community reintegration and manage the wraparound services that are not otherwise supported with insurance or other funding sources for persons transitioning from the two state mental health institutes and Assisted Living Residences.BHI is committed to excellence in delivering behavioral health services; working with our community mental health center partners, contracted providers, and other partners to provide the best possible services and environment for our members.
