Information
Since its first appearance in 2007, ATAST (Tunisian Association for the Future of Sciences and Technology, or l’Association Tunisienne pour l’Avenir des Sciences et Technologie, as it is abbreviated in French) has continually proved itself serious and dedicated in paving the road of scientific and technological development in Tunisia. ATAST started transforming from a small school club into the association it is today, with its establishment as an official scientific association dating to 2011, since then ATAST members have honorably represented Tunisia in many International Festivals and competitions. The Tunisian Representatives are selected by a team of dedicated supervisors. Selection is based on the contestants’ skills and previous results they’ve acquired in the many national events that ATAST organizes over the course of the year. Some of the national events ATAST organizes are: TUNISIE BRICOLAGE, or TUNIBRICO, is the bricolage contest the association organizes yearly. BE A TEACHER for a while or BAT, The innovative Pedagogy contest for youth the association organizes yearly. SPELLING, the national Spelling Bee the association organizes yearly. SCIENCE THROUGH MY CAM, the innovative scientific filming contest the association organizes yearly. SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CAMP, or STC, a scientific summer camp the association organizes yearly. TUNISIAN SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FESTIVAL, or TSEF, is the national scientific innovation contest the association organizes. ATAST also has the privilege of being the sole host of the International Festival of Engineering Sciences and Technology in Tunisia, or I-FEST², which appeared in its first edition in August of 2014. ATAST also hosted the international contest in Cybersecurity, Capture The Flag, that occurred in February of 2013 for the first time in the Arab World.ATAST has many goals; the further development of scientific and technological capabilities of youth is one of them.
