CryoLife has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Ascyrus Medical, LLC, and its subsidiary, Ascyrus Medical, GmbH. A privately-held medical device developer, Ascyrus commercialized the AMDS Hybrid Prosthesis*(AMDS). AMDS is a unique hybrid graft for the treatment of Acute Type A aortic dissections.CryoLife will continue to evolve through a deep understanding of our customers’ most significant clinical challenges and by collaborating to develop or acquire simple and elegant solutions for aortic disease. The addition of the AMDS to our aortic arch portfolio enables CryoLife to offer a full range of options for Acute Type A dissection patients globally.The AMDS Hybrid Prosthesis will be distributed under our JOTEC Vascular Solutions brand by JOTEC GmbH in Europe, and CryoLife, Inc. in Canada.
