Asan Medical Center (AMC)

Asan Medical Center is Korea’s largest and most preferred hospital by patients, with a gross floor area of 524,700m² (2,700 beds) serving 11,000 outpatients and 2,500 inpatients on average per day. Established with the vision of becoming a patient-centered hospital, Asan Medical Center has constantly strived to achieve this vision. It has substantially altered medical treatment systems and environment by prioritizing the convenience of patients. For instance, all medical examinations and treatments have been designed to reduce the patients’ movements to a minimum, simplifying the administrative work-handling system, and reducing patient waiting times. Asan Medical Center provides comprehensive medical services by designating the buildings according to each field of profession. The East Building is primarily occupied by the departments related to neurology, lung disease, cardiology and adult diseases. The West Building houses the Cancer Caner and the Digestive Disease Center which feature an integrated medical system. The New Building comprises independent departments such as the Children’s Hospital, the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, the Department of Ophthalmology, and the Department of Plastic Surgery. To deliver natural, cultural, and artistic healing energies to the patients, guardians, and local community, Asan Medical Center provides parks, a gallery, and a space for concerts.
