Allegheny Health Network employs more than 17,000 people and has 2,100 physicians on its medical staff. The Network’s specialty programs have received national and international recognition – particularly in the areas of bone and joint, cardiovascular, neurosciences, women’s health, transplantation, cancer, trauma, emergency and burn care. Allegheny Health Network is strongly committed to the training of future generations of healthcare professionals by offering 46 graduate medical programs, two medical school affiliations and two nursing schools. Allegheny General and West Penn Hospital serve as clinical campuses for the medical schools of Drexel University and Temple University, respectively. Nearly 280 students are currently enrolled in nursing programs at West Penn Hospital and the Citizens School of Nursing in Natrona Heights. The Network also consists of ambulatory care centers and a group purchasing organization.
