I was born and raised in Ireland the youngest of ten daughters. When my father was diagnosed with a terminal illness, our family was devastated. My father, Captain Jack Dalton, the tower of strength and our role model, would no longer be able to sail his ship single-handedly. He was candid with us in stating very clearly his insecurities and fears for the future.We took that all on-board and communicated with one another to have our father's every need met. Despite his medical team's concerns, we were adamant he was going to be taken care of from home. As a family we were faced with many, many decisions and challenges and we worked through this together to make it possible to bring our father home.As a result of supporting him in this way, his every need was addressed and taken care of in a loving, calm environment, his home, surrounded by faces of family and friends who made it known every day he was loved. He was supported both physically and spiritually by those who loved him so much.Our beautiful mother coped gracefully with dementia on a daily basis. During these challenging years since our father passed, our family provided for her every need, from home, promoting social interaction, daily fresh air and outings, home-cooked nutritional meals and, most of all, activities, fun and laughter, which kept us all going through the toughest of times. Our mother will continue to be an inspiration to us all.I dedicate all my work and the building of Aishling Companion Home Care in honor and appreciation of my father and mother for the wonderful childhood and a life of beautiful traditions and memories that they created for my sisters and me.Family has always been important to me, and in this same way Aishling Companion Home Care will care for your loved one.
