Description
Information
Agrofacturing™ is the trademarked process by which MHG | AgroCRUSH integrates planting and harvesting canola, crushing and cold-pressing the seed into oil, and manufacturing PHA into pelletized plastic feedstock for the world marketplace. MHG has selected canola seed for the chief component in their patented manufacturing process for PHA (polyhydroxyalkanoate) in part because the seeds contain approximately 42% oil by weight. In addition to providing raw material for PHA production, a portion of each canola seed harvest is set aside for replanting during the following season. Canola is a crop local to the Bainbridge and Decatur county area of Georgia, where many of the farmers are familiar with its cultivation and advantages. MHG, in turn, offers a guaranteed market for the seed after it is harvested. MHG is pleased to embark upon this exciting venture, which assures a stable and pure source for Meredian PHA biopolymer, and provides a sustainable market for the local farming community in a way that doesn’t interfere with food cropping.
