Aeroseal offers a proven duct sealing technology that tests and seals air ducts from the inside. The technology was developed at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in 1994 with funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, the EPA and others. Our computer-controlled process internally seals leaks in air distribution and ventilation ductwork by injecting a fog of aerosolized sealant particles. Aeroseal is one of the fastest growing clean technology companies in the U.S. and currently has presence in 3 continents and all 50 states across the U.S. Air duct leakage is a pervasive concern, effecting the majority of new and existing homes and buildings throughout the nation. A study by McKinsey Consulting found that duct leakage is the biggest contributor to energy inefficiency in buildings. In residential homes duct leakage accounts for over 500 trillion BTU of wasted energy every year. Commercial buildings have prodigious issues of energy inefficiency, inadequate ventilation, and air quality. Aeroseal is the first choice for sealing air ducts in existing buildings. The Aeroseal process won the "Best of What's New" award from Popular Science magazine, and the "Energy 100" award from the Department of Energy (DOE). In 2012 Aeroseal won best new home technology award from This Old House.
