Adani – One of the fastest growing conglomerates of India with deep commitment towards nation building has got it presence in Coal Mining & Trading Businesses. Coal Mining Business:- (A) INDIA: We entered Coal Mining Business in India in August 2007 through MDO business model and is currently having four projects in hand: 1) Parsa Kente Project in Sarguja District, Chhattisgarh – 15MTPA 2) Parsa Coal Block in Sarguja District, Chhattisgarh – 5MTPA 3) Kente Extension in Sarguja District, Chhattisgarh – 7 MTPA 4) Jitpur Coal Block in Godda District, Jharkhand – 2.5MTPA (B) INDONESIA: We are committed to one of the largest coal miners across the globe and henceforth in the year 2008 we bought 180MMT Bunyu Coal Mine in Indonesia. In 2009 we produced 1MMT of Coal through this mine and In FY2015 – this Bunyu Coal Mine production was 5MMT which is the highest ever coal production in Bunyu with optimized manpower and cost (which can be compared with Global Benchmarks). Coal Trading Business:- With focused approach, commitment and perseverance – We entered this business in 1999 and started developing market for imported coal by supplying to Thermal Power Stations. Within a span of two years we got our first major order from a power utility through MMTC for 1.1MMT in the year 2001. By 2006 we crossed tonnage of 10MMT and became the largest coal importer of India. Since then we never looked back and set many laurels for the Coal Desk:- 2006 – Crossed tonnage of 10MMT and became the largest coal importer in India. 2010 – Crossed tonnage of 25MMT – Continued to be the largest thermal coal importer of the year. 2014 – Started thermal coal trading operations in China. 2015 – (a) Started operations in South Korea. (b) Crossed tonnage of 1.5MMT in China.(c) Started Pet coke business in India and sold first Panamax Vessel in hazira market. (d) Crossed tonnage of 50MMT in coal trading. Continues to be the largest thermal coal importer of the year.
