Acuity Capital Network (ACN) helps CPA firms increase their revenue by helping them add two practice segments: Comprehensive Exit Planning and M&A Intermediary Services. Robert Jirovec, Founder and President of ACN, was formerly an Executive Office partner of Deloitte and also the founder of a CPA firm. After nearly 30 years’ experience as a CPA in public practice, he is fully aware of the fee pressure CPAs receive when providing traditional accounting, auditing and tax services.
According to a recent survey conducted by the Exit Planning Institute, Grant Thornton and others, business owners regard CPAs as their “most trusted advisor.” As such, CPAs are perfectly positioned to provide valuable exit planning services to their business owner clients. Not every Exit Plan results in the sale of the business, but most do. And with the Baby Boomer generation having reached retirement age, most of the 4,500,000 businesses they own will change hands in the next several years. This huge increase in the number of businesses for sale will create a “buyer’s market,” and a business owner must begin planning for the sale of his company by improving its underlying value and appearance well in advance of placing the company on the market. Currently, eight of ten businesses offered for sale do not attract a buyer. This statistic will likely get worse as more and more companies are offered for sale. ACN provides Network Members with the tools and resources to help owners significantly improve the value of their companies.
To make sure the new practice segments are successful, ACN also provides each Member of its Network with training, step-by-step work programs, marketing tools, and most importantly, a Certified Exit Planning Advisor from the Exit Planning Institute is available to help market and complete the Member’s exit planning engagements; and a Licensed Investment Banker is available from Finance 500, a nationwide investment bank, to help complete the sale of a company.
