“Opportunities for life …. for rural people” ac.care was started by people living in country South Australia - Mount Gambier - who found a gap in services for teenagers needing foster care and created a charity to meet this gap. They provide community services in the Murray Malle, Riverland and South East of South Australia. ac.care works for these communities: - recruiting and supporting foster carers - providing specialist homelessness services - services for Aboriginal people - family support and counselling - micro-finance program - running Community Centres in Mount Gambier, Millicent and Waikerie - managing the Family Relationship Centre in Mount Gambier They work with people to build on their strengths to make lasting change when they are experiencing emotional, relationship or financial issues. MISSION To enhance the well-being of rural people through positive social change.
