Abacus Recruitment & Training Services UK Limited (Abacus) was formed in 1999 and was acquired by the Cordant Group Plc in 2006 following a successful period of organic growth in its chosen market of supplying industrial/commercial/technical labour to the South West of England and the whole of South Wales. Abacus currently have a projected turnover of circa £17M in 2010 and the Cordant Group Plc have a projected turnover of £350M. Other Cordant Group Plc companies include Prime Time Recruitment, Premiere People and PMP Recruitment Limited. The business model in use at Abacus has been; • To develop a network of strategically located branches within South Wales valleys/cities and key towns in South West England • To tap into the local applicant pool to supply to local customers - The largest catchment area possible for which to recruit from. • A dedicated group of consultants whom are salary based only, non bonus orientated - and therefore bought into our culture of service to 100% satisfaction, not just quantity but quality supply. This strategy has enabled us to successfully become one of the leading commercial/industrial supplier of labour in the South West and South Wales - payrolling between 1500 and 2000 workers per week. Our core recruitment processes have been developed using our many years of experience and are applied in a standard form at all recruitment locations; they are closely integrated with an extremely efficient back office function, allowing us to operate on highly competitive margins.
