Vitus is a national leader in preserving and enhancing affordable housing. By focusing on areas with the greatest need and employing holistic renovation practices, Vitus has improved the lives of more than 25,000 residents in affordable communities across America. Founded in 1996 by Stephen Whyte, Vitus acquires, protects and renovates affordable housing, creating vibrant, livable communities through thoughtful restoration based on Active Design principles. Our approach offers residents access to healthier lifestyles by creating spaces for physical activity, community gardens, improved walkways and stairwells, and a variety of health, wellness, and education programs. To date, Vitus has preserved more than 100 affordable properties across 22 states.
