Universalmuseum Joanneum

second largest museum in austria and the largest universal museum in central europe. in the last 8 years the museum was profoundly restructed and renewed. all collections have been installed newly in all these years. for its 200 year anniversary the joanneum will open nov 26, 2011 at the joanneumsviertel with the neue galerie, the collection of modern and contemporary arts, the final complex of this profound renovation. one of the more spectacular openings was 2003, within the year when graz was cultural capital of europe, the opening of the kunsthaus graz, an spectacular exhibition building designe by pater cook and colin fournier.
