The Smallpeice Trust

The Smallpeice Trust is an energetic and independent educational charity, which promotes Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to 10 to 18 year olds with the aim of opening up more career opportunities for young people, securing the future technology talent pipeline in the UK, and helping to rebalance our economy. Founded in 1966 by Dr Cosby Smallpeice, a self-taught engineer, The Smallpeice Trust has a reputation for delivering professionally executed engineering courses. In the past academic year, The Smallpeice Trust has reached out to 20,353 young people through 33 different residential courses in a diverse range of engineering disciplines, in-school STEM Days and after-School STEM Clubs.The Smallpeice Trust has also trained 913 teachers to enhance their delivery of STEM in the classroom through their STEM Teacher Training Days Partners, such as Babcock, BAE Systems, EDF Energy, Google RISE, Microsoft, National Grid, National Nuclear Laboratory, Senergy and Southern Water provide funding to enable The Smallpeice Trust to run residential courses and masterclasses. These companies benefit from increased profile amongst the most enthusiastic students. They are able to influence the course content and give their role-model graduates the opportunity to develop and lead projects as part of their personal development. It also contributes towards their corporate social responsibility programmes.
