The Legal Forecast

The Legal Forecast aims to advance legal practice through technology and innovation. It is a not–for–profit run by early–career professionals who are passionate about disruptive thinking and access to justice. The Legal Forecast is designed as a community and rite of passage for law students and early-career legal professionals who are creative, entrepreneurially-minded and believe technology has an important role to play in legal practice and access to justice. Our headquarters are in Brisbane, Australia and, as of 2017, we have representatives in Sydney and Canberra. Our members undertake their duties pro bono, for intellectual and social satisfaction and to further access to justice for everyday Australians. Additionally, we are committed to raising money and awareness for mental health charities. In 2017 we will: - with student society QUT Starters, run our highly successful and popular legal entrepreneurship competition Disrupting Law in Brisbane; - with Adrian Agius, the Director of our Sydney operation, assist in the running of HackJustice in Sydney; - run discussion panel events about legal innovation, hosted at 6 of Australia’s most innovative law firms (our partners); - publish accessible, easy-to-read articles on hot-topics in legal innovation discourse both in print and online; and host TLF Chats, a series of informal discussions about legal innovation over tapas and tanqueray.
