The George Institute For Global Health

The George Institute for Global Health is a renowned international medical research organization that has built a large high-impact program of innovative healthcare research and enterprise spanning more than 50 countries worldwide. To support its global and regional programs, the Institute has established four major centres in Australia, China, India and the United Kingdom, in collaboration with the University of New South Wales, Peking University, and the University of Oxford, respectively. These centres collectively employ more than 500 staff. The Institute’s researchers are global leaders in preventive cardiology, nephrology, vascular neurology, epidemiology, intensive care, musculoskeletal medicine and injury prevention. The Institute owns and operates a number of social enterprises. These enterprises conduct research for third parties, undertake biomedical product development and provide advisory services to governments and industry in many parts of the world. George Clinical, the Institute’s largest enterprise, works with the global pharmaceutical industry on the late stage development of drugs for the prevention and treatment of common cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
