We seek to help the citizens of Jacksonville and the surrounding region be good stewards taking care of our people, old and young, our environment, our communities and our talents. Our mission is Stimulating Philanthropy to Build a Better Community. Founded in 1964, we are the oldest and largest (asset size) community foundation in Florida, serving the citizens of Jacksonville and surrounding Northeast Florida. Today, The Community Foundation is home to more than 630individual funds, holds more than $548 million in assets and has made more than $600 million in grants since inception. Through our work and the work of our donors, we make a difference in the lives of people in Duval, Clay, Baker, St. Johns, Nassau and Putnam counties every day. We benefit nonprofit organizations through the charitable gifts and grants made through the Foundation. We benefit our community leaders by sharing our knowledge, resources, research and ideas. And we benefit our donors by helping them develop a broader understanding of philanthropic opportunities.
