Description
Information
Founded and directed by Mr Kai Dai, The Chinese Weekly ran as a weekly printed Chinese language independent newspaper in the United Kingdom from 2010 to 2014, evolving into an exclusive quality magazine format in August 2014. The Chinese Weekly was the first Chinese language publication in the United Kingdom utilizing simplified Chinese characters (the official written characters of the New China after 1949), successfully targeting educated, opinion forming audiences within the Chinese speaking community in the UK and across the world. With its evolution into a magazine format The Chinese Weekly has not only maintained this readership demographic but also focuses on the trends and interests of Chinese migration globally as well as relevant lifestyle features to this demographic of highly educated and opinion-forming overseas Chinese. The Chinese Weekly has high print quality with a glossy format and elegant design. It features the liveliest and most provocative reporting across different fields. The first issue had quickly won recognition from many high end brands such as Petek Philippe, Montblanc, John Lewis, Estee Lauder and Swatch Group etc, which have all inserted advertisements in the magazine. With the accumulated popularity from our previous newspaper format, the magazine’s distribution map now covers all Chinese inbound travellers as distributed on all China-UK airlines and lounges such as British Airways, Air China and Air China, among others. Over a hundred 4-star and 5-star hotels in the UK subscribe to this magazine for their Chinese clientele. This magazine can be purchased from newsagents spread over UK including, as we are exceptionally pleased to announce; WHSmith (airports and train stations) as well as a number of selected supermarkets and high end restaurants. Distribution also includes direct mailing to subscribing Chinese families in the UK.
