The Arc Of Centre County

The Arc of Centre County is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The Arc was started in 1953 by a group of concerned parents. The chapter has grown to serve persons with an intellectual disability across the lifespan and throughout the county. All of The Arc's efforts are geared towards ensuring the rights of persons with an intellectual disability, supporting their families, and helping each person reach his or her personal best, through an array of community services. Services primarily offered by The Arc include Community Living Arrangements, Home-Based Waivers and Supportive Employment Services. The Arc's mission is to enhance the lives of all persons with an intellectual disability and their families, and to provide the highest quality of service in the least restrictive environment. Each individual will fully participate in choosing and purchasing services. The Arc is a member agency of the Centre County United Way; The Arc is also funded in part under an Agreement with Centre County through Centre County Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities/Early Intervention-Drug and Alcohol Program Office and other various sources.
