About Southern Launch

Southern Launch is an innovative space company providing the infrastructure and logistics support for orbital and sub-orbital launches of satellites and space payloads. We offer two multi-user launch sites located in South Australia. Both sites are close to established industry infrastructure, have good year-round weather, and are unhindered in terms of population areas and aeronautical and maritime traffic lanes. Our sites provide customers with greater launch window availability and launch schedule flexibility compared to any other location around the world. This results in more launches and profit for the rocket manufacturers, and a quicker time to orbit for satellite manufacturers and satellite operators.
The Whalers Way Orbital Launch Complex is located 45km south of the regional city of Port Lincoln. From the site customers will be able to launch their rockets into orbit out over the Great Australian Bight.
The Southern Launch team is comprised of experienced staff from Defence and Australian Industry.

Through our company’s unique skillset we also provide a contracting service to design, develop, test and integrate space launch vehicle ascent guidance algorithms and avionics.

Southern Launch is leading the development of an alliance across the many space technology companies within Australia with the goal of creating a strong case for Federal Government support, and the first ever completely Australian space launch.
