Millions of low-income Americans are having their property destroyed, are unable to see their children, are facing homelessness, or have had their savings stolen - and they are unable to do anything about it for the simple reason that they cannot get legal representation. Bayview Hunters Point Community Legal closes this justice gap for low-income residents living in the highest need neighborhoods of San Francisco. We are pioneering the country’s first system of universal access to civil representation by operating a general practice that takes responsibility for ensuring everyone in a local area gets help. We're a young, innovative, and rapidly growing nonprofit staffed by exceptionally talented staff and supported by dozens of committed volunteers. We focus on the highest need neighborhoods of southeast San Francisco, but we plan to continue growing until the day that everyone can enforce their civil rights.
