North Cascades Institute

Since 1986, we have sought to connect people, nature and community through education in the Pacific Northwest. Today, we're doing it all - from inspiring field excursions and empowering group retreats to a transformative Graduate M.Ed. Residency. Proceeds from every program help us bring school children to Mountain School, send teens on summer leadership adventures and help families experience the wild nearby! Most programs take place at the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center, located on Diablo Lake in the heart of North Cascades National Park. Our campus features ADA-accessible guest lodges, a dining hall serving locally-sourced meals, a library and lounges, access to a network of trails and professional, friendly staff. It is a hub of discovery, surrounded by millions of acres of protected lands, and a gateway to one of the wildest landscapes in North America. Learners of all ages come to explore and participate in innovative programs that inspire and enrich their lives.
