The National Institute of Occupational Health (NIOH) is the national research institute in Norway in the field of work environment and occupational health. The Norwegian name of the NIOH is Statens arbeidsmiljøinstitutt (STAMI). The NIOH is a scientifically independent department of government organized under the Ministry of labour and social affaires, and is a scientific and strategic advisor for the Labour inspection authority and the Petroleum safety autorithy. The institute is led by a Director general. The NIOH is highly involved in international research collaboration, and is an active member in the Partnership for European Research in Occupational Safety and Health (PEROSH) as well as collaborating centre in the worker's health division of the World Health Organization (WHO).
