Muswellbrook Shire Council is a proudly diverse organisation with a welcoming, friendly environment. Located in the Upper Hunter region of NSW, Muswellbrook Shire is home to a range of industries including thoroughbred breeding and racing, power generation, mining, farming, viticulture, and a variety of highly regarded gourmet food and wine experiences. Over 40 percent of the Shire is National Park land. Muswellbrook is growing as a centre of educational excellence, with the recent provision of a residential student college and the development of a new home for the Upper Hunter Conservatorium of Music. Council owns and operates the Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre, which houses the Max Watters Collection amongst other works of national artistic significance. The smaller country towns of Denman and Sandy Hollow are picturesque and feature unforgettable arts, food, wine and nature tourism experiences.
