A world class university, Monash University Malaysia opened its doors in Malaysia in 1998 at the invitation of the Malaysian government in its efforts to bring world-class international universities to its shores. What began as a campus of just a few hundred students has grown to approximately 7000 students today in a RM200 million state-of-the-art campus which underwent a massive expansion in 2007, and is continually upgraded to better meet the needs of its students. The university is well equipped with some of the most up-to-date and high performance equipments to serve the many disciplines within its seven schools. Among some of the facilities include 24 engineering laboratories dedicated to selected specialisations including robotics and mechatronics, and a Virtual Practice Environment for the training of pharmacy students. To enrich students’ educational experience, new facilities such as the Monash Simulated Trading Lab, Neurobusiness Behavourial Lab and Focus Group Discussion Room has been recently set-up. Students have access to over 420,000 electronic books, 85,000 print and electronic journals, and 1,100 networked electronic databases as well as online lectures, reading lists and past exam papers Courses at Monash Malaysia are accredited in Malaysia and Australia, ensuring an education that is locally relevant and internationally recognised.
