A group of people desirous to promote countryside banking in Laguna organized the Laguna Development Bank (LDB) on May 8, 1961. In 1975, the name Luzon Development Bank was adopted when decided to expand operation beyond the Province of Laguna. The old name was too limited for the vision of Board who foresaw the broadness of the Bank’s service capability beyond the boundaries of the Laguna Province to a wider area of Luzon.
