Jazz Foundation Of America

For 27 years the Jazz Foundation of America has been keeping jazz and blues alive, one musician at a time, by helping the musicians who have played with everyone from Duke Ellington and Billie Holiday to Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones. We now assist in more than 5,000 cases each year nationwide. OUR PROGRAMS INCLUDE: • Preventing homelessness and eviction by paying rents and mortgages • Creating dignified work through our Jazz in the Schools program, which employs over 250 musicians every month and reaches 70,000 audience members - from public schoolchildren to seniors in nursing homes - every year • Providing free medical care and operations through our partners at Englewood Hospital & Medical Center, who have donated $7 million in services since 1994 • Being there when illness, hunger, accident or other crisis strike with our Musicians' Emergency Fund In addition to the above, since Hurricane Katrina 10 years ago, we have helped more than 1,000 of New Orleans' most beloved musicians find work and new homes for their families. Thanks to the Jazz in the Schools Program, hundreds of these artists continue to perform every month. Whatever the need is, we don't just fix the problem...we heal it with dignified solutions and love.
