Immanuel United Methodist Church

Immanuel United Methodist Church is located on Main Street in Wellford, South Carolina with a rich history in the Jackson Mill Village and surrounding Wellford community. The church was originally built in 1936 as Jackson Mill Methodist Church in the Jackson Mill community. The church was lost to a devastating fire on April 6, 1967. In 1969, the church was rebuilt at its present location and renamed Immanuel United Methodist Church (Immanuel meaning “God with us”). Immanuel UMC continues to focus on living out our faith as witnesses for Jesus by striving to live more like Christ in all that we do. We are continuing to grow in our ministries of Nurture, Outreach, and Worship. We love ministering to the growing number of children at IUMC and have a passion to be vital in the surrounding Wellford community as we continue become faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. Our Mission Statement at IUMC: "By God’s Grace and the Guidance of the Holy Spirit we Pursue Christ to become and make disciples for the transformation of the world." We are people of GRACE: We continue to live in God’s grace and strive to be a reflection of that grace in all that we do. We are under the GUIDANCE of the Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit will guide us in faithfully living out God’s will for our lives and the life of our church. We are people who PURSUE: At IUMC we focus on pursuing Christ in all that we do. We believe with God’s grace and the guidance of the Holy Spirit we can continue to become and live more like Jesus as we live out our daily lives, worshiping together, and witnessing for Christ in our community.
