IDI is wholly focused on delivering the highest quality online student experience, combining bespoke course design, content creation, a tailored learning environment, tuition and comprehensive support to achieve superior outcomes. IDI has delivered online higher education courses to students from more than 80 countries worldwide, and has achieved outstanding results in terms of student achievement and satisfaction. IDI was the first alternative online provider in the UK to be successfully reviewed by the QAA (Quality Assurance Agency), with the following highlighted as good practice: • the use of the virtual learning environment to encourage student engagement in enhancement activity • the engagement of students in designing the content of the virtual studio and an application for mobile phones and tablet computers • online student support mechanisms identify students who are not engaging with their learning IDI was founded in 2004 and is accredited by the City &Guilds of London Institute and by ABC Awards and has been a collaborative partner of the University of Hertfordshire since 2008, delivering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes entirely online. IDI has been the online delivery partner for Penguin Random House since 2014, delivering its Writers’ Academy creative writing courses, and in 2016 IDI signed an agreement with the University of Aberdeen to deliver the university’s MBA programme online. IDI is a wholly owned Scottish company, with Scottish Enterprise a major shareholder and actively involved as a co-investor. Scottish Enterprise is a sponsored public body of the Scottish Government which encourages economic development, enterprise, innovation and investment in business.
