Hear And Say

Hear and Say is a leader in paediatric auditory-verbal therapy and implantable technology, teaching children who are deaf or hearing impaired to hear, listen and speak since 1992. It aims for all children to achieve speech and language in the normal range for their age by six years of age giving them the opportunity for a mainstream education, employment of choice and wider social integration. Hear and Say is a charity based in Queensland with centres in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Cairns Townsville and Toowoomba and a Telepractice program for rural and remote children. It is a family based program recognising the parent as the natural language teacher of the child. Founder Dr Dimity Dornan AO won the Queenslander of the Year Award for 2010 and was 2011 Queensland Telstra Business Women of the Year in recognising her achievements. In 2013 Dimity was recognised as a Queensland Great. Hear and Say is a not-for-profit and must raise 60% of its funds through community and business donations and sponsorship.
