Grand Bahama Shipyard Limited

Grand Bahama Shipyard Limited (GBSL) was established in Freeport, Grand Bahama in 1999, as part of a larger plan to develop a maritime center on the island. The Shipyard is located within the Port of Freeport, Grand Bahama, and is approximately 100 miles from Miami and Port Everglades. GBSL is the largest and amongst the most respected, ship repair facility in the Caribbean. The Yard operates three floating dry docks that can accommodate post Panamax vessels up to 300 m inlength. These docks are complimented with excellent facilities, including a pier and a wharf with lay down area with the recent addition of four pits dredged to 24m to accommodate underwater thruster removals. GBSL can accommodate vessels requiring drafts with an access draft of approximately 17m. The signature markets of GBSL are the Cruise Industry as well as the Oil and Gas Industry. These two major markets are supplemented with repair and maintenance of commercial vessels.
