Information
Riding the wave of Australia’s new found passion for outdoor recreational pursuits in the 1980s, Go Ride a Wave (GRAW) at Anglesea was Australia's first serious surf school. With the range of our products offered across our locations we can now meet the needs of most individuals or groups looking to get active outdoors. In the beginning… Initially established to cater for the outdoor education needs of local schools and groups staying in camps along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Go Ride a Wave began offering surf lessons and lifesaving based programs along Victoria’s Great Ocean Road at Anglesea, Torquay, Ocean Grove and Lorne. Nowadays… Today, Go Ride a Wave continues to provide a range of team building programs, both land and water based, for the corporate market. Our water based activities include surfing, stand up paddling, Giant Stand up Paddle boarding, river kayaking and ocean kayaking. Our land based programs include Team Challenge, Adventure Challenge, The Journey and Beach Olympics. We work with groups ranging from 10 to 150 participants covering a wide range of ages, abilities and fitness levels. We have developed great partnerships with many of the major accommodation providers across our locations in both Queensland and Victoria. Over the years, GRAW has worked hard to expand its operations to the most beautiful coastal locations in both Queensland and Victoria. We now operate at 11 beautiful coastal locations nationwide. Go Ride a Wave is proud of its many industry achievements and affiliations which include: • Winner of the RACV Tourism Awards (Adventure Tourism) Bronze in 2015 and Silver in 2016. • Winner of the Geelong Business Excellence Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015 - resulting in an induction into the Hall of Fame in 2015. • Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for all our main locations • Trip Advisor 5 star rating and high ranking for all our main locations • Maintaining our status as an Accredited Australian Tourism Business. • Industry membership with all relevant local, state and national tourism and industry bodies.
