Glasgow Film Theatre

The Glasgow Film Theatre or GFT is an independent cinema and registered charity that showcases a wide variety of international videos and televisions productions, art house documentary as well as mainstream films. Its mission is to be a 'Cinema For All' catering for all customers. The GFT is situated in Rose Street, (by Sauchiehall Street), Glasgow. The theatre is situated in a 'B' listed modernist European building with a post art deco interior. The building's design was by Glaswegian architects James McKissack and W J Anderson, and was influenced by the Dutch Modernist architect by Willem Marinus Dudok. The current lobby was designed by Gillespie, Kidd & Coia in 1968. The GFT is home to the Glasgow Film Festival in Scotland which is in its 6th year and attracts and audience of upwards of 30,000.
